Captain's Bio.

USCG Captain Helene Webb has mastered the art of sailing by logging thousands of miles cruising the Channel Islands, teaching sailing along the Santa Barbara coast, delivering boats to Baja, San Francisco and east coast destinations.

She has her 100 ton-masters License and is an ASA and is a Certified Instructor.

Whether racing One Design’s with the SBYC women’s sailing team in Puerto Vallarta or our Harbor 20, Simone, in local races in Santa Barbara, or simply sailing, we emphasize that:  “Its the journey, not the arrival or winning that’s important.” Our unique approach to sail instruction aims at instilling the pure pleasure of being at one with the wind, and moving through the water in peace.

Helene is also a licensed Ordained Clergy Member who has performed many marriage, commitment and memorial ceremonies at sea. She is an Artist and cartographer known for her illustrated marine charts. Her knowledge of the Marine environment and sea life was enhanced from her years as a naturalist for the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary and her work with NOAA, National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration.
